ocean breeze

Another blast from my past. While it is very simple and has it's flaw's, I think I ultimately accomplished what I set out to do. Which was create a relaxing story that focused on a certain scent.

It was from a time when I was experimenting with various gimmicks and one of them was TF candles. I've heard many times over the years that the sense of smell is the strongest tied to memory and that's why I came up with the idea in first place. A story that you would be brought back to when you smell what scent was featured in the story. It helps if you actually have a candle like the one in the story though...

I could do a much better job with this gimmick now a days I think. But for my first attempt at something like this, it's not that bad. I made this one for my Friend Cindy which is also why I went with Ocean breeze as the candle scent. She loves the ocean and all things water based. Plus, it usually smells wonderful. ^_^

I definitely think its a "gimmick" that you could and probably should revisit. Especially since you have mentioned being in caption debt. Perhaps you could make a series of these and catch up on people you owe!

I also agree that you would do a better job now, but that is evolution in general, and there is nothing wrong with looking back. That whole, 'those who do not study history are bound to repeat it." rings true in my opinion.

I think I actually have some new idea's on how to use the candles, so I think I will do some more and it definitely could help with my Caption debt.

I have enjoyed posting up some of these older caps, lots of good memory's attached to them and when I was first just getting the hang of it.

Nice cap Jennifer it's good to look back at the past from time to time to look for mistakes or something we may have forget, it's said that looking back to the beginings it's the true path to perfection :3

@ Alectra

Sure thing! What sort of scent would you enjoy? If I make any more of these, then working with your favorite or working with one that you actually own would be best. I've already made a ocean breeze caption and a vanilla, but there's no reason I can't revisit them.

OK, put me down for a dozen, and
the same for next week -I'm thinking Scarborough Fair scented: parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme.

Thanks for stopping by my blog -I'll
have to get my picture taken with one
of the performers, to show you I really
did it - but I am looking forward to it!

I would say working with one i actually own, a scent of strawberry in the air would be a good story turning Alectra by accident into Raffside ^-^
